I already wrote about this combination — climbing beans, sunflowers, and potatoes growing together — but the bed is too good-looking right now not to give it a second post of its own.
The sunflowers are properly towering over everything else at this point, with the beans climbing right up alongside them and the potatoes filling in the ground underneath.
There’s something about the height and the layering of it — tall yellow flower heads, beans twisting up the stalks, potato foliage low down — that makes this one of my favorite beds to walk past this summer.
