How the bed is laid out

Tall Jerusalem artichoke stalks spread across the bed, with beans climbing the stalks.

One of the few single-round beds of the season: the artichokes take their time, and the beans use the tall stalks as a free trellis. Climbing Longbean Red Noodle was the bean that year.

A friendly reminder: every garden plays by its own rules. Zones, soil, weather and a hundred small things decide what works — so this is how I did it and what worked for me, not a promise. Try, learn, adjust, try again.. that's half the fun anyway.
