The Jerusalem artichokes are still resting under a thick layer of autumn leaves, but it’s time to start the beans that will grow alongside them. This bed doesn’t get a trellis — the artichoke stems do that job, and the beans just climb. Picked Longbean Red Noodle for this one: supposed to reach about 2 metres, roughly the same height as the sunchoke stalks, with pods 40–50 cm long.
Beautiful seeds — hoping the bed isn’t too crowded once both are fully grown.
