A proper look at what the garden looks like in early August — full, mixed, and past the point of tidy. Calendula is running through most of the beds by now, threading orange between the vegetables.
Sunflowers are up above everything else now, and the first cherry tomatoes are starting to turn.
The corn and chard are filling in nicely too, and there’s a beautiful stretch of dark, almost black-leaved kale that keeps catching my eye every time I walk past.
