I’m running late with the planting-out this year, onions included, but they’re finally going in on the 11th of May. I plant the whole plug straight down rather than separating the seedlings, which saves a bit of fuss.
Right alongside the onions I’m direct-sowing a row of mixed umbellifer flowers, sown quite densely because of the slugs — better to lose a few seedlings to them and still end up with a decent row than to sow thin and lose the whole thing.
