Not every bed in the garden this year is a story of things going to plan, but I’ve noticed that even the ones that haven’t really worked out still manage to be beautiful in their own way.

This one has an onion flower that was left standing from last year, and a marigold that self-seeded into completely the wrong bed. Neither was planned, and neither is doing what it’s technically supposed to be doing here — but together they’ve turned into one of the prettier corners of the garden right now.
