Started this bed today, with a small adjustment to the plan already — sowing both lettuce and rocket. It’s on the early side for winter sowing, with the usual risks that come with starting too soon.
Scraped some snow off the bed first — doesn’t need to be tidy, just enough to work with.
Since the ground’s frozen, a thin layer of soil goes down first, then the seeds, then another thin layer on top.
Snow back on top, and a frame over the whole thing.
