Decided to winter sow all my early cabbage plants this year, so today I started broccoli and red cabbage for this bed, alongside the cabbage-family seeds for a couple of the other beds.
Fill a tray with regular garden soil, place the seeds at their recommended depth.
Bring it outside and add a bit of snow on top — it melts down and the seeds sprout once the weather turns.
Lid on, and into the mini greenhouse it goes.
