Early May, and it’s turnover day: the buckets of cabbage that have been living in the greenhouse move out to the raised beds outside, making room for the next wave of plants.
Before anything new goes in, the greenhouse gets a proper clean — benches wiped down, old debris cleared out, ready for round two of the season.
Then the second round moves in: tomato, chili, and aubergine, finally ready to leave the trays behind.
I was a bit late getting the tomato plants out this year, but they’re in now, alternating with aubergine and padrones down the row.
