Started this bed today. Even though the plan is to sow indoors, I gave the trays a few cold nights outside first to help the lettuce sprout faster — doesn’t work for most vegetables, but it’s a good trick for lettuce specifically.
Three types started today.
A bit of snow on top, then a few days outdoors — a fridge works just as well if you don’t have snow handy.
After a few cold days outside, moved the tray to the basement — and look how nicely it’s sprouting.
