Sowed spinach outside today — decent timing on paper, early enough to get a head start once things warm up. A few days later, ten centimeters of snow settled right back over the beds. Classic early-spring gardening in this climate.

Doesn’t matter much either way, though, because downstairs it’s a different season entirely. The basement grow-light setup stays green and steady no matter what’s happening outside the window.

Snow outside, seedlings thriving inside — this contrast is basically the whole rhythm of gardening in a cold climate, and I’ve stopped fighting it.
