October now, and the growing season is basically over, kale being the one exception that just keeps going. Everything else has been cleared or is on its way out, but the kale beds are still full and thriving, purple and green leaves holding strong against the cooler nights.
One of the best parts of the walk down to the beds this time of year is having small company along for it.
