Nasturtium has become a real favorite of mine. It makes good ground cover once it’s done flowering, and while it’s actively growing it keeps the soil underneath shaded and moist, doing double duty all season long.
It’s hard to beat for color too, the beds it’s climbed through are still bright with orange, pink and red even this late in September.
