Lovely to see the mulch actually working this year — the beds are holding moisture noticeably better, and the weeds that usually take over by now are staying manageable.
And the strawberries have started, right on cue. First harvest of the season.
A few days later there were enough to actually fill a colander — always a nice milestone, going from “a handful here and there” to “an actual bowl of strawberries.”
