Time to get the corn planted out, tucked in against the back edge of the bed where it’ll get plenty of sun.

The rhubarb, meanwhile, has basically gone feral — lucky the leaves are this enormous, because it means I can get away with not thinning it for another year.


We’ve also ordered more gravel and a couple of new shovels — the paths never quite stay finished, there’s always another stretch that needs topping up.

And when we finally got home, the beans and cucumber plants had taken the opportunity to grow while no one was watching.
