Direct-sowing parsnip, scorzonera (black salsify), and chard in rows in the same bed today. The second round of cabbage plants also goes outside now, under netting to keep the pests off.
Right now the bed is honestly pretty gray and unglamorous — bare soil, rows you can barely see, netting over everything. But this is always the least photogenic stage of the season, and it turns around fast.
