With the sauna cabin itself mostly up, the next job was getting water out to it — which meant trenching in pipes from the main line all the way out to the new building.
The climate up here means this isn’t a shallow job. The ground freezes deep in winter, so the pipes have to go down well below the frost line or they’ll crack the first hard freeze they go through. That meant a proper trench, not just a shallow scrape.
A few days later, still at it — this kind of digging always takes longer than it looks like it should, especially with as much rock as there is in this soil.
