This year I tried combining corn, zucchini, and snapdragon in the same raised bed, and it’s become one of my favorite beds in the whole garden. The corn stretches up tall, the zucchini spreads out low, and the snapdragons poke up here and there in bright yellow and magenta.
It’s not just pretty either, the corn stalks give a little shade and support to the zucchini’s sprawling growth, and the flowers draw pollinators to the whole bed.
