This one won’t win any photo prizes, but one of the kids’ favorite things to do in the kitchen is bake chokladbollar shaped to look like the droppings of various animals — the messier and more convincing, the better, as far as they’re concerned.
For anyone who wants to try it: mix roughly 250g rolled oats with 125g soft butter, 3 tablespoons cocoa powder, 100g sugar, 3 tablespoons strong cold coffee, and a teaspoon of vanilla sugar. Roll into balls, roll those in pearl sugar or coconut flakes, and chill until firm. Then let the kids get creative with the shapes — ours have very strong opinions about what a rabbit’s droppings should look like compared to a moose’s.
